What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Since the begining of the coursework I have developed my media skills massively, and these have made me an overall more creative and imaginative media student for my A2 portfolio. The skills which I have improved mostly was my Photoshop and photography skills. The reason for this is there has been a development in my editing skills since the start of the course ; because at the start I was only able to use publisher to collect and arrange the photographs which I took, however, now I am able to edit and manipulate my images the way I want them to be, and to create a higher standard of work for my coursework portfolio. 
Here I am going to show you the equipment and software I have used in my AS coursework to assist me in creating the finished products.

Equipment

This is the 12 mega pixel camera which I used to take my photographs of my actors and location shots throughout my coursework, this has given me the photos I needed to create my magazine and has produced, with the use of its auto focus feature, so good clear photos for me to edit.

This is the piece of equipment which has proven vital in my coursework as it has enabled me to transfer my images to my laptop, therefore without this card reader my images would most likely be still on the camera. The card reader connects via USB to computers and laptops and transfers images for the cameras memory cards to the computer.

This is the camera stand which I used in order to get steady and different angled shots which would not be able to be achieved with using handheld camera photography. The camera stand holds the camera in position at the correct height for my shots which I needed.

This is my laptop which was the main piece of equipment which I have used in my media, as it has helped me when researching online, editing photos on Photoshop, writing my blog and constructing plans for photos and target audience.














Software

This was a focus for my editing software in my AS portfolio, because Photoshop enabled me to brighten my images and bring them to a higher quality of image. In addition, the use of drop shadows etc have enabled me to layer text upon my images and create a more mass market product.

In addition to this there is the software which I used at the start of the course, Microsoft Publisher , which I used to create my preliminary task college magazine. This is very basic publishing software and it shows my development of skills throughout the course.

In addition to this I used the software Blogger to create my media blog , and present all of my coursework which I have created throughout my AS year. I have used this to present my data as it is a clear and organised way of showing off my coursework .

Another piece of software which I have used is slide share, this piece of software allows its users to upload PowerPoint presentations and present them online to friends etc. This software has proven useful with my media course as I am able to present my rough photos and other presentations which I have made linking to my course.

Therefore I have also used PowerPoint to create the presentations on my laptop, this is very basic yet effective when it comes to presenting my images in a simple format.









In addition another Microsoft program which I have used in the coursework was Microsoft word , I used this when I was typing up my article for my double page spread as it gave me the opportunity to check spellings and grammar within the article.
