In order to produce a music magazine I needed to first plan all aspects of it, so I began by deciding upon the genre of my music magazine. As this would allow me to then establish a target audience and then continue to further plan other aspects. I decided to choose the genre of indie, because it is what I am familiar with and has aspects of the genre which I can relate to. Therefore, I had a starting point within the planning stages. I then began my planning through creating a mind map on possible names I could call my magazine , as this was a key element with the construction of the magazine, as it is what will give the media text a brand and get the audiences attention. The names were generated through researching into indie terms and song names from indie artists albums.
After creating a variety of names for the magazine I then decided to choose the name "VIDA. " as it sounds young and fresh for a younger audience and immediately will capture there attention. I took inspiration from the Coldplay song Viva la Vida.
After choosing this I then decided to draft some ideas of what the chosen text would look like so I could begin to picture what sort of text will be used on the front cover and begin to peice together the branding of my magazine.
Final Product
I have taken the images and edited them with the Photoshop 7.0 . I have added colour backgrounds to the texts to make the texts stand out similar to commercial magazines such as NME which I have researched. This colour theme I have tried to continue throughout my magazine media texts which I have produced.
